Why should you be my photographer?
Jon approaches a project with spontaneity, inspiration and perseverance. He treats each subject as an individual, capturing something new, different, funky, edgy or traditional. And it’s that individuality that comes through in his photography.

....................................................................................................................................................
Which is better, digital or film?
Jon is comfortable shooting in either digital or film format. But the choice for your project depends on your needs. He’ll work with you to consider factors such as available lighting, weather, and the size of prints you need. Each medium has its strengths, and each is a good fit for different jobs.

How many megapixals can your digital camera shoot?
Short answer: Up to 12 megapixels, depending on the setting.
If you're a fellow photo geek: The camera is a Fuji S2. The lenses are all Nikon glass, with a range of 20mm-300mm
....................................................................................................................................................
How many pictures will I get from my wedding?
This really varies depending on your wedding. A ballpark figure is 800-1000 images per 6 hours of shooting time. That number gives Jon a large base of photos from which to work. He’ll use this initial pool to select the images you prefer and that best capture the event.

How soon will I get my prints back?
You can expect your prints to arrive within 2-4 weeks.

What is a print credit and why do I want one?
A print credit allows Jon to help you make custom prints.
Here are some things you can do with a print credit from Jon:
 |
Selective Color: Jon removes color from certain parts of the picture to make it a unique and different. |
 |
Custom Cropping: Sometimes the world just doesn't fit into a rectangle. Sometimes a square is better. Or a circle. Or some weird fractal that we haven't even thought of yet. |
 |
Custom Photo Editing: Jon lives and breathes Photoshop. Need to take something out of a photo? Clean it up a little, or remove some clutter?
Jon can help. |
 |
Large prints: Many clients love the large format prints that Jon hangs in his studio. If you would like a larger, archive-quality print, your print credit will help you get one that looks just as good on your walls, as Jon's prints do on his. |

What is the difference between a proofbook and an album?
A proofbook is less "finished and polished" than album. The proofbook contains small images that you will go through with Jon when you select the photos you want for finished prints and for the final album. Your 12" x 18" proofbook is bound and printed on photo paper with a custom, in-house-designed cover.
....................................................................................................................................................
Why makes Jon's albums so special?
Instead of relying on pre-made album templates, Jon custom designs each page
in-house. This gives you unlimited options for page layouts. Jon can plan and discuss ideas with you for your custom album.
He can make an album that, like your photos, is as different and as individual as you are. Want your wedding vows or other text next to your pictures? No problem. Stack pictures on top of each other? Sure. Do funky things with colors on the album pages? With pleasure. Jon takes the time to sit down with you in front of the computer and design something unique and representative of you.

What kind of quality can I expect from my
Jon Christopher Meyers Photography album?
All Jon Christopher Meyers Photography Albums are leather bound to last forever. Each photo is printed on archive-quality print paper, so that you can pass these memories on to future generations. Instead of using a standard album template, Jon custom-designs each album page individually. Your options are limited only by creativity. Lastly, the large format and number of images in Jon Christopher Meyers’ albums are more fun to have and to share with family and friends.

What is copyright, and who owns it?
In a nutshell copyright says, "I created this image and have the exclusive right to produce, sell and distribute it". Photographers are artists and it’s ownership of their art that keeps them in business. Jon is able to serve his customers and work with you to determine the best way to get you the images and prints you want.
Jon holds the copyright for all images, unless you purchase the printing rights you need to get all your prints and reprints through Jon. Jon offers print credits and the option to buy printing rights.
....................................................................................................................................................
What are printing rights?
Beyond the prints Jon Christopher Meyers Photography delivers you as part of your photo package, you may also purchase printing rights. Owning the printing rights allow you to make your own prints and copies. If you choose to purchase printing rights, all of the images are delivered to you on CDs, in 3 versions (Black-and-White, Color and Sepia). Images are touched up as needed (e.g., dust removal) to help you reproduce the best-quality prints.
However, images are not color balanced and have not received extensive retouching. Jon leaves that to you so you can print your photos, your way.
....................................................................................................................................................
Why do printing rights cost extra?
Jon’s prints and print packages are custom created with you, for you. However, to legitimately make your own prints at a drugstore or online service, you must own the printing rights.
When you purchase the printing rights, you own the right to make as many prints as you want for personal use (not commercial use). Due to customer interest, most wedding packages are priced to include printing rights.
